Rainmaking Ventures is a venture development company. We create, accelerate, and scale new businesses with world leading corporations and entrepreneurs. Our model allows us to combine scale strengths and deep domain knowledge of corporates with the entrepreneurial execution of startups.
We are building a new spin-out venture for the shipping industry that is backed by a global maritime industry group.

The spin-out is created around an IoT product with state-of-the-art technology that has been tested with 20+ customers and has revenue and soon ready to be scaled in the industry through existing global distribution channels.
We are now looking for a strong CEO who will work with our venture team and our industry partner to champion to scale and lead this venture.

The ideal candidate will have a successful track record of growing teams in either a tech startup or a business unit in the maritime industry.

The candidate should have a strong commercial background within B2B sales and Digital products. 

Vision & Strategy

    • Help set the vision of the overall strategy from launch to scale; including defining long-term goals and go to market strategies  
    • Drive growth, profitability and business value
    • Manage burn rate while growing the business 
    • Serve as external spokesperson and public champion for the business


    • Drive day-to-day execution and operations
    • Own P&L and cash flow 
    • Mitigate business and operational risks

Team & Culture

    • Attract, retain & develop the team
    • Cultivate a high-performing, innovative, one-team culture


    • Build strategic partnerships & relationships to drive growth
    • Regularly report updates to Board of Directors and corporate stakeholders regarding progress on strategic priorities

Desired Expertise and Experience

    • 5+ years of experience leading and scaling startups or business units
    • Strong experience in the maritime industry
    • Startup/entrepreneurial experience within IoT/digital products/technology
    • Commercial profile with experience of technical/digital B2B sales
    • Experience managing corporate stakeholders to keep regular updates on business performance and progress
    • (Be open to re-locate yourself and the company to Singapore)
