Vehicle Technician

As a vehicle technician you will be responsible for hands-on interactions in the manufacturing, inspection, and maintenance of our unique self propelled trailer systems. Maintains workshop equipment and can assist in some of the regulatory and certification processes. Assists engineers in the development process and will be an integral part of the HW team.
Responsibilities
- Assists with research and development.
- Maintains, repairs and inspects for roadworthiness of preexisting designs and design prototypes of our unique self propelled Class 8 trailer system.
- Assists with the design, development, testing, and manufacture of our product. May require the use of computer-aided design (CAD) software.
- Tests and inspects the trailer system and equipment, to assist the engineering team in corrective actions of development or production problems.
- Helps develop methods and procedures used in prototype development and production startup.
Required Qualifications
- Automotive Trade School Cert preferred, but relevant experience in an EV Automotive technician role is acceptable.
- Two to three years of experience as a vehicle technician (required).
- Experience and exposure to DC High Voltage systems (280VDC or higher, Hybrid/BEV).
- Must be able to read technical drawings, schematics and manuals.
Preferred Skills
- The ability to use a DMM, Oscilloscopes preferred.
- The ability to flash FW, or previous experience doing so.
- Can effectively verbally communicate information and can respond to questions in person-to-person and small group situations with other employees of the organization. May occasionally interface with customers, clients, or the general public.
- Experience in with Heavy Duty / commercial power trains a plus.
- Write routine reports and correspondence with suppliers, service providers and staff.
- Can plan the time, method, manner, and/or performance sequence of service procedures; may also occasionally assist in planning work assignments performed by others within a limited scope.
- Frequently makes decisions of both minor and major importance, which may affect the work operations of other employees to a moderate degree. Complete some repetitive tasks, such as Tire changes.
Range Energy’s compensation package includes a competitive salary, equity for all full-time roles, and a generous benefits package. The salary range for Mountain View, CA based applicants is between $40 - $55 USD hourly. The total compensation will be determined based on multiple factors including domain knowledge, experience and location.
