Redaptive is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sales Leader for the financial services platform Redaptive Capital. In addition to leading and optimizing the sales efforts across various channels, this hire will be responsible for developing and implementing prospecting and origination strategies and building and cultivating strong relationships with key stakeholders while driving deal execution and revenue growth. 

The Sales Leader will report to the Head of Sales for Indirect and lead a team of Sales Executives originating transactions that span the energy efficiency, power generation, and equipment finance spectrums across the commercial and industrial landscape. This leadership role will help to influence the company’s go-to-market strategies, pricing assumptions, risk tolerance, and growth trajectory.

Key Responsibilities

    • Manage the sales executives to successful sales outcomes, supporting strategy, sales process, contracting and deal development, and client relationship management.
    • Lead the team to achieve bookings and revenue goals.
    • Cultivate and grow the talent on the sales team via a robust learning and development program for new hires and existing team members.
    • Inherit, improve, and manage sales performance tracking and forecasting.
    • Work with Partnerships and Origination teams to ensure an ongoing pipeline of opportunities.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to improve cross-team processes.
    • Lead and coordinate the development of creative or unique solutions – thinking beyond what we have always done, creating a vision of what could be, driving through hurdles, and leading teams to develop unique solutions.

    • Sales Strategy and Target Achievement:
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to promote renewable energy project financing solutions and general equipment financing.
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities and potential clients within the renewable energy sector.
    • Work diligently to achieve or exceed sales goals.
    • Continuously analyze market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to adapt the sales strategy accordingly.

    • Relationship Management:
    • Build and maintain excellent relationships with existing and prospective clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored financing solutions.
    • Conduct regular client meetings, presentations, and negotiations to showcase the benefits of our renewable energy project financing offerings.
    • Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure seamless execution and delivery of financing solutions, addressing client concerns promptly and effectively.

    • Deal Structuring and Closing:
    • Work closely with the project development, finance, and legal teams to structure and negotiate project finance deals that align with client requirements and our company's financial goals.
    • Prepare and present financial models, feasibility studies, and investment proposals to potential clients, highlighting renewable energy projects' financial benefits and risks.
    • Lead contract negotiations, reviewing legal terms, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and policies.
    • Typical structures include Equipment loans and leases, Power Purchase Agreements, Energy Service Agreements, Energy as a Service, etc.

    • Market Intelligence and Reporting:
    • Stay current with industry trends, market conditions, and policy changes affecting renewable energy project finance.
    • Provide regular reports to the management team, including sales forecasts, market analysis, and competitor insights.
    • Collaborate with marketing and communication teams to develop promotional materials and participate in industry conferences and events to enhance brand visibility.

Requirements/Qualifications

    • 5+ years in a sales leadership role
    • 10+ years of proven experience in sales, preferably in renewable energy project finance or related industries.
    • Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field. An MBA or equivalent degree is preferred.

    • Superb knowledge of renewable energy technologies, project development, and financing models.
    • Specific, demonstrable experience contracting, pricing, structuring, and analyzing development projects, e.g., commercial or industrial real estate development, public-private partnerships, generation or utility projects, and large SaaS projects.
    • Relationship management and rapport-building experience.
    • Metrics-oriented with strong pipeline management experience.
    • Proficiency in relevant software applications, including MS Office and CRM systems.

    • Highly motivated, self-starter with comfort around origination and fee income targets
    • Motivating leadership skills, with the ability to mentor the team to achieve consistent growth.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively articulate complex financial concepts to C-Level executives.
    • Exceptional negotiation and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
    • Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze financial data, conduct risk assessments, and create financial models.
    • Prioritization skills and project management skills to drive output from multiple support team members.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong PowerPoint skills, strong quantitative analysis, and Excel skills. Ability to break down complex structures into relevant points for diverse stakeholders.

    • Expected annual salary: 265K (subject to adjustment for relevant experience, skills, and geolocation)
    • Annual commission target: 100-150% of base pay earnings
