Position Description:

Responsibilities:
The Database Engineer will apply knowledge of hardware and software products to maintain secure database operations. You will evaluate database structure and specifications to recommend and implement upgrades and enhancements that support scalability and 24/7 operations. Responsiveness to ad-hoc requests to execute queries or perform data manipulation is critical to meeting the customer’s data needs. You will also create and maintain database schema documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs) that adhere to security, regulatory, and legal requirements. Coordination with senior management, network engineers, other contractors, and vendors is necessary to ensure positive working relationships and mission success.
Basic Requirements for Skills, Experience, Education and Credentials
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering. Additional work experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.
- 5+ years of technical experience designing and developing database systems and supporting database operations.
- Experience managing and monitoring database security and performance.
- Experience tracking, managing, and fixing bugs or making enhancements to existing scripts or stored procedures.
- In-depth knowledge of SQL, OBA scripting, Oracle 11g or higher, and Microsoft Enterprise Server software.
- Experience creating database models.
- Experience preparing documents regarding database design, configuration and change management.
- Experience implementing and maintaining database replication and providing high degrees of network availability and data integrity.
- Excellent communications, technical writing, and team skills are required.
- Active TS clearance is required.
