DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW:
Red Sox Productions is responsible for two primary functions within the organization.  The first is to provide fans at Fenway with an incredible and informative game experience by using the ballpark’s video boards to show stats, replays, crowd shots, video features, and game highlights and by using the sound system to play recorded music and live organ.  The second is to produce video content that is viewed by fans on the club’s social media channels, its YouTube page, and NESN.  The department also creates video content for other departments such as marketing, sponsorships, community/player/media relations, baseball operations, and the Red Sox Foundation. 
 
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Control Room Audio Utility is an individual who has a keen ear for sound and is willing to learn and grow. This entry-level position will be responsible for monitoring ballpark audio and ensuring equipment is operating correctly before, during, and after Red Sox games and special events at Fenway Park. Working with the Chief Engineer, this position will detect, diagnose, and correct any technical issues with the audio system that arise throughout the game or event. Candidates for this position are expected to be available to work all Red Sox home games and other Fenway Park events as needed.       

RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Conduct a pre-event walk-through each day to prepare and test audio equipment
    • Log audio measurements from different locations around the ballpark
    • Scan and deploy RF frequencies
    • Utilize wireless mics for pregame ceremonies and special events
    • Run cables for special events as needed
    • Become proficient with the in-park audio board
    • Control audio routing and patching for Fenway Park event spaces
    • Monitor audio levels in the ballpark throughout the event
    • Work with the Chief Engineer to identify and troubleshoot issues throughout the ballpark

CHARACTERISTICS / QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Knowledge of any or all of the following equipment, Yamaha QL1 Audio board, REED R8050 Sound meter, Shure Axient wireless system, QBox, Making/Fixing XLR cables, WAVES audio program, Knowledge of both PC and Mac OS
    • Experience working in a professional control room
    • Experience in college or professional sports industry preferred but not required
    • Demonstrates a passion for and knowledge of baseball
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high attention to detail
    • Available to work nights, weekends, and holidays throughout the year
