POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Controller will serve as a key member and highly valued resource of the FSG Finance team with a broad spectrum of accounting and financial responsibilities, which are described below. The Controller will be able to meaningfully contribute to department and company success through advancing department and company initiatives, process improvements (some of which will include technology implementations) and a myriad of other critical areas of the ongoing and expanding business.
 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Manage consolidated global financial reporting, including monthly financial results, debt compliance, audited financial statements, regulatory reports, and ad hoc requests
    • Consolidated reporting includes intercompany eliminations, minority interest, multiple levels of consolidations, and various reporting needs and outputs, and requires  consolidating subsidiaries with different fiscal year ends, local currencies and statutory GAAP reporting
    • Maintain daily accounting functions including payables, billings, cash management, and close process for multiple holding companies
    • Manage treasury function including monitoring and transferring cash, active management to reduce interest charges, issuing loan notices, accounting for interest rate swaps, and overall debt administration
    • Design and generate new monthly financial reporting package for ownership
    • Supervise and develop the Senior Accountant and Staff Accountant
    • Account for partnership equity and administer distributions to owners
    • Support quarterly tax payments and prepare information for tax filings
    • Participate in annual audits for all entities (approximately nine entities currently), preparing documentation, drafting reports, etc.
    • Advance department and company initiatives, including consolidated reporting systems, budget and forecast tools, process improvements, and reporting enhancements, including planned consolidation software implementation
    • Conduct technical accounting research and document conclusions (i.e., derivatives/swaps, consolidation, impact of new pronouncements, etc.)
    • Support M&A financial due diligence, as requested
    • Assist with or lead various special projects and ad hoc requests

CHARACTERISTICS / QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business. CPA required
    • 8 – 12 years of relevant experience – a mix of public accounting and private preferred
    • Hands-on experience in financial accounting tools (ERP systems, consolidation software, etc.)
    • Strong technical accounting (including non-controlling interests), operational accounting (including consolidations) and GAAP skillset
    • Demonstrated ability to effectively analyze financial results
    • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and prioritize effectively to meet deadlines
    • Exceptional communication skills (oral and written)
    • Collaborative team player, self-motivated and directed, reliable
