Redwood Credit Union is looking for our next Assistant Manager of Lending and Business Systems who will be responsible for the direct supervision, coaching, and development of the Application Specialist team. Ensure high-quality management of the credit union’s lending systems, while leading key application initiatives across the Consumer, Mortgage and Business lending departments. Partner with stakeholders to translate business needs into system requirements and process improvements while overseeing system design, implementation, and optimization. Serve as a bridge between technology and business operations and play a critical role in regulatory compliance, training, and technology transformation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Management
• Supervise, coach, mentor, and evaluate the performance of Application Specialists owning Consumer, Mortgage, Business Lending and other applications.
• Recruit and onboard new team members as needed.
• Conduct performance appraisals, set individual development plans, and recommend salary adjustments.
• Provide guidance and oversight on daily operations, prioritizing support tickets, project assignments, and enhancement requests.
• Represent the department in meetings and serve as a liaison between business and technology leaders.
• Serve in a leadership capacity in the absence of the VP.

Business Systems Project Delivery
• Oversee analysis, documentation, and refinement of business requirements and workflows.
• Direct efforts to identify opportunities for improvement across lending and other platforms and help LOBs build their near/long term roadmap.
• Lead concept design sessions and ensure activities around design, configuration, testing, and implementation of internal and vendor platforms proceed as planned.
• Monitor adherence to quality assurance standards and change management controls.
• Collaborate with business owners on RFPs and business case development.

Technology and Compliance Support
• Ensure teams follow compliance and regulatory requirements and industry’s best practices.
• Stay current on industry regulations and assess system implications.
• Assist in the development and delivery of training and implementation materials.
• Evaluate and propose technical solutions aligned with organizational goals.
• Provide technical troubleshooting guidance and escalation support for complex issues.
• Assist in troubleshooting Business Systems, if/when required.

Other Functions
• Develop staff on technological knowledge and understanding.
• Participate in community events, community volunteer boards and associations.

Minimum Qualification: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Strong leadership and supervisory skills, including performance coaching and project oversight.
    • Demonstrated ability to analyze and improve complex business systems.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to present to senior leadership.
    • Strong ability in building relationships with line of businesses, as a liaison to IT and a business advocate.
    • Knowledge of consumer, mortgage, and business lending practices and regulations.
    • Possess a technical background with hands-on experience with lending systems and other business systems is preferred.
    • Ability to act independently, manage confidential information, and make sound decisions under pressure.
    • Comfortable managing multiple priorities, deadlines, and cross-functional teams.

Licenses and Certifications

    • System Administration certification in lending and other business systems preferred.

Physical Requirements

    • Ability to travel to branch offices as needed.
    • Ability to stand, bend, stoop, sit, walk, twist, and turn.
    • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
    • Ability to use a computer keyboard and calculator.
    • The work environment is indoors; majority of the time is spent sitting at a desk.
The ideal candidate has a combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, with a minimum of six years’ experience in lending systems within a financial institution, and a minimum of two years of supervisory or team lead experience strongly preferred.

Compensation: Base starting range: $119,579 to $157,539 annually commensurate with experience.
Our base salary starting range is based on scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, and internal peer equity.
