The company is an employer partner of Jumpstart Refugee Talent and is looking for a Property Finance Assistant in Toronto.

The role of the Property Finance Assistant is one of value-added support, which will enable Property Accountants to address important issues relating to their portfolio in a timelier manner, perform their jobs in a more efficient manner and free up demands on their time to focus on workload and continuous improvement relating to their portfolios.  In addition to the above, the Property Finance assistants will be responsible for the reconciliation of the daily, monthly, and annual banking and cash management activities and as well take on additional banking related duties as required and as delegated and provide additional support to the accounting and banking administration groups as required, 


What you will do:

    • Customer Service:
    • Handle inquiries from prospective residents professionally and courteously.
    •  Provide superior customer service to both internal and external clients by identifying and understanding the needs of others.

    •  Maintain an overall focus on enhancing the customer experience.
    •  Respond to telephone and email leasing inquiries.
    •  Follow up with all leads in a timely fashion.
    •  Courteous and prompt communication with residents, team members and management.
    • Leasing:
    • The Property Finance Assistant will be responsible for the following functions relating to assigned properties:
    • Preparation of weekly and monthly bank reconciliations
    • Timely follow-up of outstanding items
    • Communication with property administration staff regarding banking activity as required.
    • Post after cut-off entries as per client requirements and other journal entries as required.
    • To work with and provide clerical support to property accountants relating to daily, monthly, and annual accounting activities.
    • Assist and or prepare setting up of Preauthorized Payments for Property Taxes
    • Process Property tax invoices including Accounts Payable function and preparation of required correspondence.
    • Preparation of Bank wire or Transfers and online setup, ensuring timely approval by signing officers
    • Preparation of HST reconciliations monthly or as required.
    • Assist with monthly reporting requirements.
    • Assist with annual budget process as well as maintenance of budgeting tool.
    • Document filing and merging mainly using pdf direct and adobe acrobat reader.
    • To take on additional work as required and as delegated.

Who You Are:

    • Minimum 6 months post-secondary education, preferably in financial management or equivalent experience
    • Previous experience completing bank reconciliations, HST reconciliations and filings an asset.
    • Must possess an aptitude for numbers.
    • Relationship Skills - ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written; ability to develop and sustain cooperative working relationships – a collaborator.
    • Organizational/Multi-Task Skills - Ability to allocate one’s time effectively and work under pressure; ability to prioritize workload; ability to work at a detailed level; willingness to learn in a dynamic environment.
    • Computer Skills - intermediate to advance skills Microsoft Office programs; ERP software (Yardi preferred) and Adobe Acrobat Reader an asset.
    • Police Clearance – A criminal verification check is required for employment.
