Junior Investigative Reporter

Reorg Research is seeking a Junior Investigative Reporter to join its newest and fastest-growing product: Event Driven - an emerging leader in real-time news and analysis of M&A enforcements, regulatory decisions and policy changes. Our reporters work with our editorial staff to provide breaking news and analysis directly to our subscribers. Successful candidates will have strong background and desire to work as an investigative journalist. A basic understanding of antitrust enforcement agencies and their processes, corporate dealmaking process, and business fundamentals is preferred. This is a full-time position based out of our Washington, D.C.,office.


    • Break news on government antitrust enforcement efforts, reviews by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) and other regulatory actions that affect corporate mergers
    • Uncover market-moving news through in-person and telephone interviews with sources
    • Quickly, concisely and accurately convey news to our subscribers
    • Provide coverage on events that may interfere with a merger’s path to consummation
    • Develop and maintain contacts at the Department of Justice, the Federal Trade Commission, relevant government agencies and attorneys in private practice
    • Monitor relevant companies’ SEC filings, disclosures and related government agency press releases
    • Collaborate with our legal analysts, editors and journalists
    • Attend conferences and events


    • Experience and skills as an investigative journalist Understanding of M&A, antitrust enforcement, national security review screens and relevant regulatory agencies’ purposes and processes
    • Experience in government, media or corporate law
    • Motivated self-starter who enjoys working under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Excellent collaborator with robust interpersonal skills
    • Ability to develop news sources
