Customer insights are critical to building successful products and services. However, finding and interviewing the right people to uncover those insights is a time-consuming, expensive process that often results in researcher frustration.
Respondent is building a new category marketplace that connects researchers with high-quality participants. By reducing research timelines from 4-6 weeks to days and shrinking costs by 90%+, we make business-changing insights available to researchers of all types -- from in-house research teams at Airbnb and Microsoft to startup founders hunting for product-market fit.
What you'll do
- Manage and prioritize research participant recruiting requests with speed and accuracy.
- Work across multiple marketing channels to source participants that are sought for research studies.
- Become an expert in what prevents research projects from qualifying high-quality participants and execute a plan to eliminate those challenges.
- Develop an understanding of the breadth and depth of our participant panel, building skills to assess what marketing channels and intervention are appropriate to ensure success.
- Maintain a level of empathy, discretion, and confidentiality while working with both sides of our user research marketplace.
- Work with the Fulfillment, Executive, Marketing, Product, and Customer Facing teams to identify, prioritize, and execute the fulfillment approaches that support our company objectives.
- Drive scale and automation where appropriate to engage and acquire participants for research.

- Detail oriented when it comes to planning and executing work with a track record of successful outcomes.
- A curious problem solver who is comfortable digging into research requirements, screening details, and platform capabilities to understand and find solutions to recruiting questions.
- Self-motivated and comfortable working on tasks with little supervision, while also comfortable asking clarifying questions when necessary.
- Relationship builder with colleagues, external customers, and research partners. You are at ease and confident in customer-facing roles.
- Energized by working on many different things at once, and excel at project management without shying away from ambiguity and shifting priorities.
- Excellent communicator--particularly in writing, but also via Zoom and phone.
- You are aware of your own biases and actively work to overcome them in working with others.
Additional Requirements
- Professional fluency in English
- At least 1+ year of research participant recruiting experience is desired.
- Willingness to establish baseline understanding of fundamentals of user research recruiting, organization, documentation terms, and user research best practices.
- Comfortable with email marketing service providers like Hubspot, Klaviyo, Salesforce, etc.
- Working knowledge of SQL a plus.
- Willingness to work in a US compatible timezone.
