About the role:
We are looking for an experienced Growth Marketing Lead to grow participant supply for our 3 million-strong panel. Our ideal hire will take complete ownership of growing participant supply by building and evolving a highly efficient acquisition engine that quickly fills research studies, and gives research participants an experience they keep coming back for, and want to refer on.
About Respondent:
After 8 years of building a participant panel of more than 3m participants across 150 countries, we offer the most diverse high-quality participant panel in the world. While this initially grew through early marketing efforts, it continues to grow organically by 50k/month through referrals and word-of-mouth alone.
Over the past couple of months, we’ve seen demand for participants grow quickly with the release of an API product that allows any research platform to give their customers direct access to our panel. Participant supply is what makes Respondent special: it’s why researchers and customers love to use us, and your role would have a huge impact on our business.
Responsibilities
- Fill research projects (ultimately to 100%) with participants, identify areas with limited supply, and pre-empt the needs of research teams looking for participants
- Grow participant supply by experimenting with channels, campaigns, and approaches
- Discover what’s likely to be most effective by analyzing 8 years of data from our database of 3m participants - then execute on it
- Use exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex issues, prioritize tasks, and make sound decisions under pressure
- Build referral programs that draw on our participant panel of 3m to efficiently fill research studies around the world
- Develop an understanding of the best way to reach, incentivize, and retain repeat participants across difficult cultures and markets around the world
- Take a deep interest in understanding our technology, develop a continuous feedback loop with the product team to innovate and achieve company goals
- Take ownership of targets such as research project fill rate and time-to-recruit
- Build a team to support your efforts and scale your effectiveness
- Update the organization with insights that help us reach our goal of being the highest-quality participant supply for UX research
- Build a process around everything you do - to continually improve the performance of you and your team
Requirements
- We don’t expect you to have done this exact role before: very few people have. But because you’ll be breaking new ground, you’re the type of person who gets excited by cracking hard-to-solve problems.
- You have at least 3 years' experience running large-scale growth initiatives across multiple countries, probably as part of a B2C growth role
- You’re a self-starter who gets a kick out of solving difficult problems. You enjoy hitting targets, working to tight deadlines, running meaningful experiments, and building processes as you go.
- You're interested in being in a role where you roll up your sleeves, execute on the highest priority work streams, and develop strategic plans to achieve your goals.
- Your data analysis skills are strong. You can query our database of 3m participants, analyze trends to identify priority next steps, and present data in a visual way that’s easy to understand.
- You’re a clear thinker and that’s reflected in your written and verbal communication skills.
- You’re constantly thinking about how you can scale your impact. You have experience prioritizing, running, measuring, and improving the impact of many campaigns at once.
- You have experience driving thin-margin, low-cost customer acquisition with organic, referral, and product marketing campaigns
- You feel comfortable tying your efforts to revenue goals, and have a good understanding of how to measure the effectiveness of your work through a revenue lens
- You’d be working as part of our small but fast-growing commercial team in Sydney (the rest of the team are in the US and Canada). We work hybrid, either from our Sydney city office or at home.
