Retro Biosciences is a fast-growing biopharma startup using high-throughput, high-dimensional approaches to develop therapies for diseases driven by the biology of aging. Our mission is to extend healthy human lifespan by one decade. We are looking to expand our exceptional team at our Redwood City location.
We are looking for a highly organized and self-motivated Facility Custodian who craves a challenge and feels energized to roll up their sleeves. You will work in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment. You’ll be part and parcel with the Retro ops team, and while your primary responsibility will be to keep our facility clean and in order, you will also work on various initiatives and special projects. You’ll be juggling multiple balls at once sometimes, but affirmatively within the constraints of a healthy, happy working environment.
What you'll do in this role:
- Clean Retro office spaces and labs including bathrooms, kitchens, and more - vacuuming, mopping, trash collection, etc.
- Seek out areas requiring upkeep; takes initiative to complete the task
- Assist with kitchen and office inventory and stocking
- Support overall operational functions such as setting up for special events, greeting visitors, and receiving deliveries
- Help with furniture assembly, equipment set-up and other practical tasks

- Are not intimidated by getting dirty and cleaning things you have never cleaned before
- Worked at a startup or a dynamic environment before
- Have basic computer skills
- Have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions
- A flexible work schedule including being on-call for emergencies - weekends and holiday work are required, but shared among the team
- Have taken or are interested in getting OSHA10 certified (we’ll pay)
- Can lift 50 lbs and climb a ladder
- You are motivated by knowing your work is contributing to improving people's health
- You’re energetic, adaptable, and detail-oriented
- You are able to wear five different hats in five minutes and enjoy itFriends describe you as a problem solver
- You embrace the process of adapting to new and changing situations, and can adjust as needed

Retro develops therapies for diseases driven by the biology of aging. We work on (1) partial reprogramming, (2) blood factors, and (3) autophagy to rejuvenate cell and tissue function with the ultimate aim of adding years to healthy human lifespan. We are looking to expand our exceptional team at our Redwood City location. The annual salary range for this role is $65,000 - $70,000. Total compensation also includes generous equity and benefits.
