We’re building a mission-driven team of accomplished and kind individuals who embrace our startup culture of rapid iteration, transparency, and versatility.
We are hiring a new member of our Facilities team whose primary responsibility will be to assist with day-to-day facility needs. In this role, you will juggle long-term initiatives and shorter-term projects. You will be a part of the Science Operations (SciOps) team - a close-knit group of dedicated, resourceful humans, and you’ll report to their fearless leader.
About you:
You are a reliable and proactive team player who excels at collaborating with others. You are energized by rolling up your sleeves and getting hands-on. No task is too small and if you see something that needs doing, you don’t wait to be told before jumping in to help. You love a challenge and when given the chance to work on something new, you’re resourceful and scrappy.
What you'll do in this role:
- Develop and maintain digital trackers, checklists, and schedules to ensure timely execution of facility initiatives, capturing thorough documentation
- Coordinate with the SciOps team and external vendors, facilitating transparent communication, swift response times, and proactive workflow planning to keep all stakeholders informed and aligned on project timelines and responsibilities
- Enforce facility safety protocols, keeping working spaces up to OSHA and EH&S standards
- Contribute to the upkeep and repair of our two adjacent facilities (50k sq ft total)
- Tackle a wide range of hands-on tasks, from basic repairs to creative solutions for unexpected building challenges
- Support overall facility functions such as cleaning and organization of the space
- Help with furniture assembly, equipment set-up, heavy lifting, and other practical tasks
- Be on-call for emergencies, some weekends and holidays
You might thrive in this role if:
- Have 3-5 years experience in facility coordination, operations, or other related field - labs and GMP-compliant facilities a plus
- Have experience “getting your hands dirty,” whether through hobbies like home improvement, past work on a farm, or general tinkering—anything that’s given you confidence with tools and building projects
- Are willing to work occasional irregular hours to support critical maintenance or emergency repairs
- Are able to lift and move heavy equipment, at least 50 lbs
- Have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions
- Move fast and maintain a high level of attention to detail, organization, and followthrough
- Are proficient in Google Suite and Asana or similar software
$75,000 - $90,000 a year
Total compensation also includes generous equity and benefits including:
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance for you and your family
- 401(k) plan with 4% matching
- Flexible time off and 10 company holidays per year
- Paid parental leave
- Annual learning & development stipend
- Daily Retro-sponsored lunch and snacks
