About Rezo Therapeutics
Rezo is a different kind of biopharma company.  Our mission is to dramatically increase the success rate of drug development by building a disease-agnostic, fully-integrated, network biology platform that will redefine our understanding of human disease and ability to treat it.

Our Founders and members of the Board are a group of esteemed, world-class scientists from the University of California, San Francisco: Nevan Krogan, Kevan Shokat, Sourav Bandyopadhyay, Natalia Jura, as well as renowned biotech executives George Scangos and Norbert Bischofberger. These leaders bring with them a strong track record of amazing discoveries and scientific breakthroughs, leading to very successful companies and many FDA approved drugs.

Capitalizing on our Series A of $78M from top-tier investors, we are leveraging a unique integrated approach, combining capabilities in genetics, proteomics, structural biology and AI to generate deep biological insights and novel therapeutic approaches.

Located in San Francisco’s vibrant Mission Bay neighborhood, Rezo is in close proximity to UCSF, numerous urban amenities, and outdoor recreational opportunities. We recognize that realizing our mission depends as much on our people as it does on our science and are building a workplace that fosters collaboration, respect, and diversity where contributing to your team’s success is valued as highly as individual achievements.  If you’re passionate about team science and breaking down barriers to progress in drug development, please consider joining us!

The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly enthusiastic and motivated Proteomics Scientist to join the Rezo team. You will work cross-functionally with Biology, Chemistry, and Computational teams, bringing a selfless, team-first mindset to help drive Rezo’s shared goals.

What You'll Do:

    • Apply cutting-edge, proteome-wide, targeted, and multiplexed mass spectrometry techniques to the characterization of complex protein samples coming from Rezo biology teams
    • Develop novel approaches to probe protein complexes, structure, and small molecule protein interactions using Rezo’s state-of-the-art mass spectrometry platform
    • Design and implement automation for sample handling and preparation, as well as SOP documentation and best practices for sample management
    • Collaborate with Chemistry, Biology, and Computational teams to develop methods to characterize disease states from complex samples and tissues, as well as probe alterations associated with disease with drug treatments
    • Conduct day-to-day instrument operation, maintenance, and queue management
    • Help supervise and maintain sample database, plasmids, and project electronic lab notebooks (ELNs)
    • Balance workload across the approximate following: 30% bench work, 20% instrumentation support, 20% ELN maintenance, with the remainder split between data analysis, meetings, and team collaboration

About You:

    • BS + 8 years of experience, MS + 6 years of experience, or PhD in analytical mass spectrometry, biophysics, structural biology, computational biology or relevant field (2+ years industry experience preferred)
    • Extensive hands-on experience working with LC-MS/MS instruments, including maintenance, troubleshooting, quality control, and analysis
    • In-depth knowledge of instrumentation and computational tools relevant to proteomic efforts within Rezo, such as database search engines (MaxQuant, MSFragger, DIA-NN) and post processing tools (Spotfire, MassDynamics)
    • Previous experience handling large numbers of samples, as well as necessary automation expertise, and ability to actively manage multiple projects simultaneously
    • Experience with quantitative data analysis and experimental design relevant to proteomic studies, including familiarity with multiple acquisition methods
    • Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills and a desire to work within a dynamic multidisciplinary team environment
