Reinventing Geospatial (RGi) is a leading geospatial expert working with Defense, Intelligence, and Federal clients to achieve mission success and solutions for varied mission-critical programs. Projects at RGi span a wide range of software and analytical methodologies and lie at the intersection of software development and geospatial intelligence. We work with soldiers and geospatial analysts to produce solutions that allow them to develop better situational understanding of complex operational pictures. We do everything from data collection to UI/UX development and advanced deep learning, using a broad toolset including Python, C#, and ArcGIS. Our projects include cutting-edge R&D efforts, as well as large mission programs incorporating data processing/optimization, data dissemination techniques, visualization, and collaboration across the commercial and government sectors. 

RGi is seeking a DevOps Engineer to help our team in Herndon, VA or at a northern VA Government customer site to support a program that will deliver a testbed for the development and integration of automated intelligence and machine learning capabilities. The candidate will become a member of a project team responsible for designing and maintaining multiple DevOps pipelines integrating and deploying numerous components into the larger system infrastructure. Deployment will be across multiple networks into hybrid architectures consisting of both local and cloud infrastructures. The ideal candidate is passionate about technology and able to learn quickly.   
 

Responsibilities

    • Design, implement and maintain multiple DevOps pipelines.   
    • Implement CD & CI solutions to support rapid development and integration.   
    • Integrate static code analysis and other security mechanisms into pipeline.   
    • Design and apply hybrid deployment strategy (cloud and local virtualized).   
    • Work with software and system engineers to apply automated test and documentation processes.   
    • Troubleshoot and resolve network, automation pipelines, and infrastructure issues.   
    • Build, maintain, and monitor configuration management of release products.  

Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related degree. 
    • Cloud application deployment and maintenance experience.  
    • Basic LINUX system administration experience (RedHat and/or CentOS).  
    • Working knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems, web services and SQL databases.  
    • Willing to work onsite in Herndon, VA or Government customer sites in Northern Virginia. 

Skills We’d Like to See:

    • Master’s with 6 years of related experience or Ph.D. with 3 years of related experience. 
    • Security+ or comparable certification for privileged user access.  
    • Experience with distributed processing methods and tools, such as REST APIs, microservices, IaaS/PaaS services.  
    • Experience developing and deploying web services.  
    • Experience supporting software in a production environment. 
    • Experience with building and maintaining software in a cloud environment 
    • Experience with automated deployment technologies such as Cloud Formation, Ansible, Puppet or Chef.  
    • Experience with AWS Cloud operations and maintenance
