As a Director of Strategic SLED, you will be responsible for driving the company's growth within the state, local government, and education sectors. This role focuses on customer acquisition, headcount growth, partner acceleration while leading a high-performing sales team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the SLED market, a proven track record in strategic sales, and will work closely with internal teams and partners to grow the Rhombus Strategic SLED organization.

What You'll Do

    • Possess a profound understanding of navigating the complexities of managing diverse stakeholders in the public sector, particularly in government and education procurement processes
    • Acquire an in-depth knowledge of Rhombus' business and offerings to effectively pitch and sell to state, city, county, education agencies, and special districts
    • Commit to field-based sales activities, including customer meetings, site visits, and relationship development to foster client engagement
    • Develop a comprehensive strategy for acquiring customers, collaborating with the channel team to implement partner initiatives resulting in regular deal registrations
    • Oversee all aspects of the sales process, ensuring alignment with key performance metrics and quotas, with a focus on driving net new business sales through prospecting, product demonstrations, trials, and strategic negotiations
    • Lead a team of Strategic SLED Account Executives in uncovering and nurturing new opportunities through comprehensive territory plans to drive revenue and customer growth
    • Develop and implement comprehensive territory plans to optimize revenue and growth opportunities across the region.
    • Create compelling presentations and proposals to facilitate deal closure, negotiating pricing and contractual agreements effectively

What We're Looking For

    • 3+ years of experience as a sales leader, managing high-performing sales teams with a proven track record of success selling technical solutions to the Public Sector (SLED, Local Government, Municipalities)
    • Extensive experience developing customer relationships within SLED accounts, Channel Partners, and Resellers.
    • Relevant experience in software or hardware industries, such as physical security, computer networking, IoT, SaaS, or Cloud software.
    • Strong knowledge and execution of sales methodologies, such as MEDDIC, is highly preferred.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective interaction with peers, customers, and partners
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, demonstrating a strong sense of urgency and adaptability
    • Willingness to travel as needed to engage with clients and support sales initiatives.
    • BS/BA degree strongly preferred, or equivalent experience.
This is a hybrid position based in Sacramento, CA. Candidates must be able to commute to the office as needed. 

Compensation Range
Base Salary: $120,000 - $140,000
Estimated OTE (base salary + commission): $240,000 - $280,000

Additional forms of compensation, depending on the role, include uncapped commission, sales incentives, discretionary bonuses, and equity in the company. Individual pay is determined based on the candidate's primary work/hiring location and additional factors, such as skills and experience, and relevant education, certifications, or training. Further details about compensation for the role can be discussed during the interview process.
