We are looking for Software Engineers who can own and solve problems and is not afraid of making future architectural decisions in the Zūm Platform. If you are a self-driven motivated leader who enjoys solving problems in large scale distributed systems domain, you will love this job. You’ll work on the company’s backend systems to build, maintain and improve key functionalities of Zūm’s business, to help schools, students and parents.

Job Responsibilities:

    • Build up robust and efficient backend systems to support business requirements.
    • Build up fast and reliable services to support requirements from users and customers.
    • Build up always available systems to make Zum services safe, reliable, and rich feature to satisfy all schools, students, parents, and drivers.
    • Build up micro-service based fast development systems 

Job Requirements:

    • 5+ years industry experiences
    • Experience in Node.js and NoSQL database or related technologies with proven work products you can share with us.
    • Experience building REST API-based platforms
    • Experience in large scale distributed systems
    • Hands-on experience with deploying and managing apps on cloud - AWS/Google
    • Ability to work under aggressive deadlines and scale up, experience with startups
    • Ability to plan and deliver on time under pressure 
    • Experience with Angular/Mobile technologies (Swift/Java) to support frontend engineers
    • Knowledge of Javascript 
    • Strong problem-solving skills and practical application of data structures
    • Good sense of humor with a great ability to work with others
    • Good communication skills 
    • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in computer science or quantitative field with a strong math and science background

The targeted base salary range for this role is listed in the compensation section below. Actual salary may be above or below this range based on factors such as location, skills, and relevant experience. In addition, this position may include additional compensation in the form of bonus, equity, or commissions. The targeted pay range for this role in US CA is: $120-180k
