Senior Electrical Engineer - RF Design
QPU – Hardware Engineering
As a Senior Electrical Engineer (RF Design) on Rigetti's Control Systems team, you will design, develop, and deploy the hardware that controls the "guts" of our quantum computers! This hardware generates the microwave pulses that control and read out the qubits in our quantum computing system. Responsibilities include board design (schematic and layout) of multi-layer boards containing digital, analog, and RF components, verification of boards using scopes, spectrum analyzers, VNAs, and testing on the qubits themselves. This will be a unique opportunity to work cross-functionally among the broader Quantum Engineering department and collaborate with physicists, embedded software engineers, and mechanical engineers to define requirements, build tools, and test our system. The ideal candidate will know how to communicate effectively when working across teams so that they can understand problems at a system level and make trade-offs when necessary.
Your work will directly support Rigetti's mission to build the world's most powerful computer and will be some of the most instrumental work in the field of Quantum Computing. Aside from owning day to day technical work, you will be involved in solving complex, long-term quantum engineering challenges that have never been solved before! Rigetti cares deeply about building an inclusive and diverse team to solve humanity's greatest problems and encourage all who feel qualified to apply.

Rigetti Computing is on a mission to build the world’s most powerful computers. Based in Berkeley and Fremont, CA, we are scientists, engineers, builders, and visionaries who believe quantum computing is going to significantly affect health care, how we treat disease, how we generate energy, and how we feed humanity. We design and fabricate quantum circuits and deploy them as quantum computers available online. Our engineers build the full stack of technologies that are integrated into these machines, including cryogenic hardware and microwave circuitry, advanced analog and digital control modules, and a software stack that provides the world’s most advanced SDK and runtime environment for quantum computers. Our quantum computer is available through Our product, Quantum Cloud Services, which is the world’s first full-stack programming and execution environment for quantum/classical computing. We were founded by Chad Rigetti in 2013, and today employ over 170 people.
