A commercial analyst examines an organisation’s revenue, operations, and overhead costs to suggest opportunities for improvements. The primary goal of a commercial analyst is to identify the organisation’s commercial patterns and recommend strategies to enhance the firm’s profits. They analyse operational costs, administration expenses, and sales revenues to collaborate on plans to improve a company's financial standing.

The role of a commercial analyst is highly significant, providing critical, actionable information for a company. For an organisation to remain economically viable during turbulent market conditions, it will need to be responsive and in tune with the analysis and recommendations of its commercial analysts.

Duties and Responsibilities

    • Work closely with RISE Group management directly impacting business performance and decision making
    • Provide input in budgeting and forecasting for sales, marketing and business planning to achieve organisational objectives
    • Analyse sales and marketing reports and suggest strategies for improving business performance
    • Analyse promotional activities to ensure the funds invested are achieving optimal results, per marketing strategies
    • Perform strategic analysis and prepare financial models to support strategic planning activities
    • Financial assessment of new investment opportunities and assist the management in investment decisions
    • Work closely with the commercial managers and other commercial team members in providing data-backed recommendations to the client to support effective decision making
    • Coordinate with finance team to streamline and channel efforts to improve financial performance of the organisation
    • Seek best practices to drive process standardisation in maintaining commercial systems; develop risk plans

Qualifications

    • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Statistics, or Economics; a Master’s in Business Administration or a similar field is a plus
    • 3+ years of experience in Business Finance or Commercial roles
    • Critical thinking, analytical skills, and investigative skills
    • Ability to conduct extensive commercial statement analysis 
    • Knowledge of basic data analysis tools like MS Excel
    • Ability to understand and apply statistical concepts to derive insights from financial data
    • Experience with business intelligence tools like Tableau and Power BI
    • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills

Working Conditions

    • Makati, Metro Manila, Philippines - Hybrid
    • Travel will be required
