Position Overview

Riverdale’s Mathematics Department seeks an enthusiastic and collegial educator to teach Middle and Upper School Math.  We hope to find a candidate comfortable teaching a variety of math courses from our Mathematics 6 (sixth-grade) curriculum through our upper level courses in Calculus and Advanced Math.

Necessary Requirements

    • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in mathematics or a related field from an accredited college or university.
    • 3-5 years experience teaching at the Middle and/or Upper School level 
    • Can effectively develop and teach both introductory and advanced math classes.
    • Intentionally builds and sustains an inclusive learning environment for all students. 

Preferred Qualifications

    • An interest in engaging students in an environment that is both supportive and rigorous
    • An interest in growing Riverdale’s math program for students to address real problems through problem-based learning
    • A desire to participate in community activities including advising groups, service opportunities, or other co-curriculars. 
    • Demonstrated collegiality, collaboration, teamwork, and organization
    • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging work


$63,500 - $142,912 a year
The salary range for this position is based on our faculty salary scale.  Faculty are placed on “steps” on the scale based on years of experience and education.

Sabbatical:  Full time teaching faculty are eligible for a sabbatical after 10 years of employment.

Retirement:  Employees are eligible to join our Defined Contribution retirement plan through TIAA.  The school contributes 7% of an employee's annual salary to their retirement account.
