As the world faces the immense challenge of the COVID-19 pandemic, Riverdale Country School continues to prioritize the health, safety, and well-being of its community members. Individuals are required to wear masks at all times except when eating and our strict adherence to physical distancing guidelines means that we limit the number of students in our classrooms. We currently provide free ongoing COVID-19 testing for all employees and also require students to be tested regularly. We are fortunate to have a sprawling campus with ample outdoor space and have upgraded the air filtration systems in our buildings. These elements have allowed us to maintain a rich learning experience for students during this difficult time.
Riverdale seeks a full-time learning specialist, working on our Learning Research Team. The position includes direct work with students, both those with documented learning differences and those who desire extra help. An important part of the LRT's mission also includes working with faculty on best practices for teaching and keeping up to date (and helping keep others up to date) on effective pedagogy. The hire will work with a team of five learning specialists, each of whom specializes in working with a particular age group, though there is some flexibility within that system.
All candidates for employment at Riverdale should demonstrate an interest in engaging students in an environment that is both supportive and rigorous and will participate in community activities, including advising student groups, service opportunities, or other co-curricular programs.
