In today's evolving business landscape, environmental, social, and governance (ESG) efforts have emerged as critical success factors. Businesses seek partners who share similar ESG perspectives, and compliance requirements are on the rise. Many companies struggle with developing effective ESG programs and disclosing their impact. Investors, in particular, have unique disclosure needs to understand how corporate sustainability initiatives ultimately decrease investment risk.

Our ESG services include Peer Benchmarking, Framework Alignment and Reporting, Communicating ESG Message, and Meeting SEC Climate Rules.

Our Interns are key drivers of our success. We are seeking professionals eager to gain knowledge and experience in ESG while making a strong contribution to our growing practice. At Riveron, we offer our interns the opportunity to work on small teams alongside senior partners gaining experience in consulting and client services, financial communications, industry-specific macro trends, and environmental, social and governance reporting, data platforms, and strategic planning

Who You Are:

    • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Sustainability, Environmental Science, Public Policy, Human Resources, Sustainable Accounting or related field
    • GPA of 3.5 or above
    • Must be a rising junior or senior of undergraduate studies 
    • Experience in collecting, analyzing, and presenting data with a working understanding of accounting, finance, or business analytics concepts
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment 
    • Detail-oriented 
    • Strong analytical skills  
    • Excellent communication skills 
    • Self-starter and able to work independently  
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel
    • Willing to work a minimum 20-30 hours per week from June through August (with potential to extend through Fall 2024)
    • Must work in-person at the DC office during business hours (8am-5pm CT, at least once a week

What You’ll Do:

    • Provide hands-on support to Riveron’s ESG team, including research and deliverables for clients across numerous industries
    • Conduct environmental, social, and governance (ESG) peer benchmarking and disclosure research
    • Perform research and evaluate corporate sustainability best practices in ESG reporting
    • Research current ESG developments, including governmental regulations and industry trends
    • Provide technical writing and communications support across a variety of channels, including Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) reports, policies, and websites

    • The intern will learn about and gain in-depth experience in: 
    • Consulting and client services 
    • ESG regulations and data platforms
    • Environmental, social, and governance topics related to industry-specific trends
    • Obtain training and subsequently provide assistance with technical ESG tasks, such as conducting greenhouse gas inventories and reporting within frameworks.
