Electric Driveline Product Line Director

This is what you’ll do:
· Lead the Engineering & Project delivery from concept to production for Advanced Driveline Products (new e-axles and driveunit assemblies) within Propulsion:
o Work with Exec, Engineering, Project Management and Product leaders in the definition of Vehicle & Propulsion level requirements
o Be the Program/Technical expert who leads all technical delivery, design reviews, concept definition and resolution of all Engineering/Project concerns, requirements definition/Systems Engineering and Functional Safety where appropriate.
o Be the Project Director who leads all Company wide cross-functional departments to deliver the driveline products to production e.g. Engineering, Purchasing & Supply Chain, Finance, Manufacturing, Quality. Work alongside all appropriate Rivian internal departments in a highly integrated manner ensuring the highest levels of communication and integration are maintained to guarantee robust and efficient definition and delivery of all Propulsion & Vehicle Programs.
o Ensure all activities are robustly executed to enable successful prototype build phases and production launch for both Propulsion & Vehicles.
o Ensure Project gateways are planned, deliverables are understood in detail, cascaded to teams and resources are planned to deliver green deliverables.
o Lead Production Releases to have production release plans in place and executed with no late releases & no late parts or software/controls for all build phases.
o Co-ordinate and manage cross functional teams in a simultaneous methodology to deliver designs & software/controls in line with production release dates.
o Ensure Engineering documentation is co-ordinated & managed to project milestones – risk assessment/management, requirements, DFMEA, DVP, Functional Safety.
o Vehicle Builds – Manage and co-ordinate all BOMs, part procurement & delivery for all pre-production build phases.
o Establish piece cost, investment and weight targets
o Own Finances – Manage the design and engineering content to deliver the BOM & investment targets for specific Vehicle projects. Document and report all risks and opportunities and ensure all components have targets which roll up to the Propulsion level target.
o Manage all designs to weight targets.
o Understand and ensure system and component designs are complementary and deliver Propulsion & Vehicle attribute targets.
o Ensure, ahead of release, that all designs meet Design For Manufacture (DFM) standards for both internal and external manufacturing supply options.
o Lead cross-functional program meetings.
o Ensure Propulsion timing plans deliver to the program timing plans.
This is what you’ll need:
· Master’s Degree in Engineering
· 15 years+ Automotive Propulsion Systems Engineering & Project delivery through all project phases from concept to series production.
· Have demonstrated excellent leadership of major projects through their successful delivery from concept to production
· Excellent inter-personal skills with the ability to collaboratively work with and influence cross-functional departments both internally and externally.
· Energy & curiosity to make things happen, seek out solutions and represent a world class brand.
