Sr. Electro-Mechanical Engineer, Stationary Storage

Full Time
This is what you’ll do:
·       Work on battery distribution box, wiring and cables
·       Busbar sizing and design
·       Contactor, fuse, sense leads and low voltage electronics placement and housing
·       Power electronics modules, filters, busbars packaging
·       Develop component specifications and work with suppliers
·       Develop detailed CAD models
·       Generate detailed 2D drawings
·       Maintain and release BOMs in the company wide PLM system
·       Participate in DFMEAs, test plan creation and risk assessments
·       Implement DFM feedback from manufacturing teams
·       Support manufacturing, internal and contract, for prototype and production builds
 
This is what you’ll need:
·       Experience with high power and high voltage components packaging including power modules, busbars, fuses, contactors
·       Understanding of creepage and clearance
·       Cable and wiring experience. Routing, connection methods and conductor selection
·       High level of skill in 3D modeling (CATIA preferred)
·       Design for metals manufacturing methods including machining, stamping, punching and casting
·       Design for plastics manufacturing methods including injection molding and extrusion
·       Knowledge of GD&T per ASME Y14.5
·       Understanding of power components heat generation
·       Understanding of safety of conductive materials and grounding
·       Experience with ground up requirements definition and supplier management
·       Experience with DFMEAs and DVPs
·       Experience designing and releasing parts and systems according to a new product introduction process that includes lifecycle management (Enovia PLM preferred), FMEAs, standards for drawings and defined milestones
·       Previous experience with utility scale and commercial & industrial energy storage systems is a plus
·       10+ years industry experience
·       At least a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering
