Paint Maintenance Manager

Operations – Manufacturing Paint Shop /
       Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice processes. Vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance
       Contribute to new business initiatives and projects and review and communicate the impact on operational activities
       Implement all relevant procedures described in the Quality Management System (QMS) and ensure compliance
       Maintain automation in a state of compliance with specifications, fit, form, and contamination standards
       Responsible for monitoring day-to-day production processes, tooling, and operations related to automation equipment
       Analyze equipment performance and work to improve efficiencies; actively participate in Constraint Review Process
       Ensure equipment start-up readiness for production
       Lead skilled trades/maintenance personnel to evaluate controls requirements for maintaining and improving production yields, throughput, and up time
       Supervise material control (spare parts inventory), repair and rebuild programs, and reliability and maintainability reviews people
       Maintain a versatility matrix that ensures technical coverage at all times
       Assist and teach maintenance troubleshooting techniques to improve mean time between failure and mean time to repair
       Participate in Time & Data Management meetings as prescribed by Ford Production System (FPS)maintenance
       Supervise preventive maintenance schedules, preventive and predictive inspections, and repairs to minimize downtime
       Coordinate and schedule manpower and materials to meet maintenance requirements to minimize down time; coordinate maintenance activities with other plant operations
       Conduct root cause analysis of downtime issues to prevent recurrence (4D process)
       Work with ME/PE to launch new programs or equipment, optimize floor layouts, coordinate equipment refurbishment, and develop standardized PM programs from FMEAs
       Execute prioritized daily maintenance activities (predictive, preventive and crisis maintenance) obtaining full utilization of workforce while optimizing available opportunities for all maintenance
       Provide input to MPS for weekend and shutdown maintenance planning
       Develop in-house systems and procedures to meet the needs of external customers
       Respond to quality issues by putting in containment actions, full analysis, poka-yokes (error proofing), and implementing short-term and long-term countermeasures
       Update quality documentation and communicate to carry forward lessons learned from quality concerns in new customer contracts
       Ensure that plant schedule for vehicle builds is fulfilled by operation deliverables
       Introduce new systems and procedures where appropriate
       Undertake internal and process audits of the Quality Management System (QMS)
       Direct reports are: Group Leaders Team Leaders and production workers
       Establish and refine quality sign-off instructions, standards and documentation
       Report against agreed quality metrics
       In conjunction with the Supplier Quality Assurance function, reduce the effect of non-conforming supplier materials on the production area quality
       Produce written reports and make presentations
       Undertake continuous training and development
       Identify business improvement opportunities within the organization
       Identify and deploy the technical skill sets, resource levels and systems to deliver projects, including the engagement of external resources as required
       Develop, implement and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for each area of responsibility
       Help set department objectives/KPIs and review and assess ongoing performance of direct reports
       Ensure KPIs are met

       Provide technical expertise to the team
       Manage contractors on site to ensure they meet legal and company requirements

       Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
       5+ years Automotive Paint experience
       Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
       Knowledge of constraint management principles
       Successful candidate should be able to demonstrate leadership behaviors combined with outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills
       Experience of dealing with customers and suppliers
       Creative problem-solving skills
       Ability to work any shift and overtime as required
       Cross-functional operations in a manufacturing setting
