Controls Engineer, Self-Driving

This is what you’ll do:  
· Design, test and validate motion planning and vehicle control algorithms for autonomous driving  
· Develop, implement, and verify algorithms in simulation environment and on test vehicles 
· Formulate simulation scenarios and integrate control logic with vehicle dynamic mathematical models 
· Coordinate with other vehicle control and perception team to ensure end-to-end performance metrics 
· Work closely with the system engineering team to formulate design verification plans and procedures according to the established requirements and maturity according to the vehicle program milestones  
· Verify and validate the state machine logic and safety critical monitors  
This is what you’ll need:
· M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science, or a related field  
· Practical application of classical and modern control methods such as PID, lead/lag compensation, feedforward control, stability margins, root locus, discrete controller design, sensitivity functions, LQR, Estimation (Kalman Filtering), State Feedback (Luenberger Observers), and Gain Scheduling 
· Strong background in signal processing with a good understanding of digital signal processing and filter design 
· Exposure to path and motion planning and implications on trajectory tracking 
· Solid knowledge and experience in Matlab/Simulink, Stateflow, C/C++  
· Experience with appropriate verification and validation efforts at different test levels (SIL/HIL/Vehicle).  
· Ability to work in a fast-paced development environment  
· Good team player with great communication skills  
· Passionately motivated to take ideas from development validation to a verified product  
· Self-motivated: Demonstrated ability to set direction and guide the team towards it  
· Hands-on approach: Proactively identifies and fills in gaps where needed
