Hardware Safety Engineer

This is what you’ll do:
Work with talented engineers to develop designs for high reliability systems starting from concept level.
Develop technical safety concepts with engineers and cascade reliability performance requirements to parts of the component design
Conduct quantitative safety analysis for internal Rivian Electronics
Collaborate with development teams and suppliers to understand component failure models, failure rates, and system implications.
Perform statistical analysis of lab and test results to predict failures and communicate results.
Analyze field data to create statistical failure models.

Detailed knowledge of electronics design and development process.
Detailed experience analyzing circuits and calculating failure/FITrates
Understanding of ISO26262 Part 5, 10, and 11 or similar standards (IEC, MIL)
5+ years experience in quality and reliability.
Deep understanding of different electronic failure models (SN29500, IEC62830, MIL) and the application to automotive environments.
Experience in ENCO or similar tools
Ability to work and communicate with cross functional teams
Proven experience tracking the progress of multiple projects
Strong team player; drive to exceed expectations and meet deadlines
Ability to manage ambiguity and create clarity; oversee multiple projects and make them better
Excellent written and verbal skills
