Sr. Controls Engineer - Vehicle Energy

This is what you’ll do:
-Develop controls strategies and algorithms for energy consumption optimization, charging, range estimation and low voltage management.
-Develop robust algorithms for vehicle systems from a clean sheet, including software architecture, implementation, integration and test.
-Lead and moderate software design reviews.
-Research and develop novel solutions to various controls problems that cover multiple domains including electrical, mechanical, thermal.
-Work on Labcar to bring up hardware & debug system issues, using the test loop to optimize your code.
-Align the intended technical implementation cross-functionally with other teams. Optimize for the best solution. Iterate to gain confidence in the integration of your solutions.
-Collaborate with Systems Engineers to define vehicle, sub-system and component requirements.
This is what you’ll need:
-A degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Software Engineering focused on controls, mechatronics, or similar.
-4+ years of experience with embedded development using C/C++ or model-based development.
-Strong first principles background & understanding of physics highly preferred.
-Experience in real-time controls in the area of High Voltage batteries
-Core understanding of EVs and High Voltage batteries
-Experience with power electronic validation efforts at different test levels (SIL/HIL/Component/Vehicle) preferred
-Ability to take large concepts, decompose into realizable deliverables and work with team members to distribute tasks and execute individual responsibilities with minimal guidance.
-Ability to work in a fast-paced development environment, thrive under pressure and produce exceptional technical results.
-Good team player with great communication skills.
-Self-motivated: demonstrated ability to set direction and guide the team towards it.
