About the role
Work with technical lead of RF certification to test OTA/GPS/NFC. Plan and execute test cases to measure RF characteristics on vendor development boards, Rivian hardware. Collaborate with HW and SW teams to understand use cases and provide RF related metrics. Interface with system and vehicle test teams design to develop system level and vehicle level RF test specs. Monitor RF characteristics through HW and SW iterations.
This is what you will do
Develop detailed test plans to validate telematics, signal integrity, and connectivity for all phases of product testing and certification including bench, lab, and vehicle.
Responsible for delivering regulatory and commercial certifications for automotive connectivity such as FCC and network operators.
Assist in developing libraries and automate test cases using Python robot framework.
Develop and execute OTA tests according to CTIA, GCF/PTCRB and network operator test specifications.
Responsible for testing Antenna performance and interpret results to provide feedback during various stages of vehicle integration.
Perform regression tests against changes in software and hardware.
Troubleshoot inconclusive and failed results in testing and differentiate between test setup and DUT issues.
Produce detailed test reports with traceability and work cross functionally for root cause assessment.
Debug and diagnose issues with development engineers involving software white/black box testing.
Work cross functionally with other Validation and Test teams within Rivian to recreate, troubleshoot issues and review test plans and results.
Actively participate in design reviews, DFMEA, DFM analysis and PFMEA discussions.
This is what you will need
Bachelors with 3+ years of experience, Master’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering preferred.
5 or more years of experience in RF engineering related to Consumer, Automotive or Aerospace electronics.
Experience with system test, troubleshooting and root cause analysis of automotive wireless hardware at the PCB and module level.
Specification level understanding of at least one wireless technology such as cellular OTA, GNSS or NFC.
Deep understanding of system level OTA and RF parametric and the impact they have on the overall system.
Experience setting up test stations using equipment such as base station simulators, signal generators and spectrum analyzers.
Experience and working knowledge of automation frameworks and automation of test cases.
Experience with regression testing and ability to track issues through product cycles.
Working knowledge and experience with ticketing systems.
Ability to become part of cross functional teams as necessary to ensure testability.
Ability to present to both technical teams and product level teams at the appropriate level of detail.
Understanding of Field to lab testing and production testing.
Understanding of throughput testing and ability to troubleshoot issues at various layers of the stack.
Membership or experience with CTIA and/or NFC forums.
Experience with OTA testing
