Lab Manager and Rework Technician

Full-time combination lab manager and rework technician, with opportunity to expand into hardware test engineering.

Responsibilities

    • Procurement, management, and maintenance of lab equipment and supplies
    • Rework of electronics to support testing and bring-up
    • Execution of test programs, debugging, and failure analysis procedures
    • Design of lab fixtures and electronics to improve testing efficiency

Requirements - We are looking for someone who can excel in wearing a variety of hats:

    • Ability to perform intricate rework of small, complex parts in dense designs – e.g., solder 0201s (or larger) and QFNs, reflow BGAs, connect high-speed probes, etc
    • Experience managing electronic bench lab build-outs and deployments including maintaining required documentation (e.g. material safety data sheets) and working with infrastructure and IT teams
    • Python, Bash, or similar scripting experience
    • Server rack lab management experience nice-to-have
    • Experience maintaining lab equipment, scheduling recalibration of equipment, etc
    • Manage rework/ECO documentation and board assembly revision tracking
    • Basic understanding of electronic components, electronic schematics and PCB layouts
    • Ability to work from verbal description or informal sketches as well as formal ECOs
    • Familiarity with electronic and thermal lab equipment usage and capabilities
    • Linux and Windows OS experience
    • Circuit design experience nice-to-have
    • Excellent skills in problem solving and verbal communication, excellent organization skills, and highly self-motivated
    • Ability to work well in a team and be productive under aggressive schedules

Education and Experience

    • 3+ years as an SMT rework technician or related role with Technical Certification or Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering field
    • OR 5+ years as an SMT rework technician with lab management experience
