As a Robotics Hardware Intern, you will support the hardware engineering team in designing, prototyping, and testing physical components and systems for our robots. This role offers practical experience in mechanical design, electronics, and system integration within a dynamic and collaborative environment. Important Notice: For this position, we can unfortunately only accept applications from citizens of Schengen Area countries. This restriction does not apply to ETHZ and EPFL students who are required to complete compulsory internships as part of their studies.

What you’ll be doing

    • Support the design and development of mechanical structures, electronics, sensors, or actuators for robotic systems.
    • Aid in building prototypes, conducting tests, and analyzing results to improve hardware performance.
    • Help create documentation detailing hardware specifications, assembly instructions, and test procedures.
    • Work closely with senior engineers to integrate hardware with software systems and contribute ideas for optimization.
    • Gain hands-on experience in CAD software, electronics, and mechanical design principles.

What you must have

    • At least BSc in Robotics, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
    • Familiarity with CAD software for mechanical design.
    • Basic understanding of electronics, sensors, and actuators.
    • Strong interest in robotics and a desire to learn and contribute to hardware development.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Get some bonus points

    • Familiarity with Solidworks.
    • Previous coursework or projects related to robotics, mechanical engineering, or electrical engineering.
