Job Description
As the Senior Field Engineer at RIVR, you will own the technical performance of our robotic systems in the field and act as the crucial bridge between Operations and Engineering. Your mission: to ensure seamless real-world performance and to accelerate the loop between field insights and engineering improvements. This is a high-impact role with significant headroom for growth. You’ll be trusted not only to influence how we operate in the field, but also to shape what your role evolves into as we scale globally.
What you'll be doing
- Customer-facing:
- Sales support
- Organize technical demos
- Operations management:
- Provide technical input on launch plans and daily operations.
- Define training programs for field technicians and maintenance procedures.
- Operations engineering:
- Act as a cross-functional touchpoint for Engineering and Operations.
- Maximize the real-world performance of our robotic systems by proactively identifying workarounds, designing preventive maintenance practices, and establishing effective field policies, ultimately ensuring reliability and uptime in live deployments.
- Be the voice of the field in engineering, reporting issues and bugs, surfacing critical edge cases, and influencing roadmap decisions.
- Lead the planning and execution of field tests and feature rollouts.
- Define and implement diagnostic tools, logs, and scalable workflows for field technicians.
- Translate operational needs into engineering requirements, ensuring tight alignment between development and field realities.
- Mentor junior field engineers and actively contribute to building a high-performing team.
- Foster a culture of ownership, precision, and cross-functional collaboration.
