We’re looking for a Quality and Safety Manager with a focus on safety and risk management to support the increasing volume and complexity of clinical incidents, patient safety initiatives, and emerging risks across our platform. Reporting to the Associate Director of Patient Safety and Risk Management, you will be a key contributor to Ro’s patient safety program, responsible for managing event intake, conducting investigations, performing safety monitoring, and supporting high-priority projects tied to widespread or time-sensitive care delivery issues.

In this role, you will take a hands-on, detail-oriented approach to patient safety, owning critical but often behind-the-scenes tasks like auditing and incident investigation. At the same time, you will take a more strategic and visible lead in our risk management efforts, helping shape and operationalize Ro’s approach to clinical risk across new technologies, treatments, and care delivery initiatives.

This role requires strong analytical skills and the ability to translate data from incidents and safety initiatives into actionable insights that drive both immediate improvements and long-term impact. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional partners to manage and communicate adverse events, share risk evaluations, and support broader safety and risk mitigation efforts.

What You'll Do:

    • Triage, investigate, and escalate clinical incidents reported by frontline staff; document findings, maintain accurate records, and facilitate feedback loops to ensure learning, accountability, and continuous improvement
    • Assist in the coordination and response to large-scale patient safety events requiring rapid investigation and cross-functional collaboration
    • Conduct targeted chart audits related to cautionary events and safety metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement
    • Oversee and execute monitoring processes for potential side effects, supporting proactive pharmacovigilance
    • Take a lead role in evaluating new clinical technologies, workflows, and treatment offerings to identify and quantify potential risks prior to implementation
    • Facilitate prioritization of patient safety opportunities based on risk assessment and strategic alignment
    • Drive forward team initiatives and contribute to larger cross-functional projects, with ownership of specific deliverables and outcomes
    • Communicate identified risks clearly and effectively to cross-functional teams, enabling informed decision-making and appropriate mitigation strategies
    • Support Ro’s participation in a Patient Safety Organization (PSO), including data submission and integration of learnings into safety strategy
    • Analyze safety data and trends to generate insights that inform strategic decisions, operational improvements, and clinical best practices

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

    • BSN or equivalent years of experience
    • Current RN licensure
    • 5+ years of experience as an RN 
    • 1-2+ years of which are spent in virtual care (asynchronous is a plus) 
    • 1-2+ years of experience in direct patient care 
    • 1+ years focusing on patient safety 
    • 1+ years focusing on risk management 
    • Demonstrated experience applying data insights to enhance healthcare safety practices 
    • Understanding of the principles of clinical risk management
    • Experience using clinical background to identify potential concerns for patient safety and quality of care
    • Detailed oriented and highly organized - able to make sense of unorganized data and clinical information 
    • Adept at learning new technology and can thrive in a fast-paced, high-intensity environment
    • Relevant certification in patient safety or risk management (e.g., CPPS, CPHQ, ARM, CPRM) preferred

The target base salary for this position ranges from $130,100 to $150,000, in addition to a competitive equity and benefits package (as applicable). When determining compensation, we analyze and carefully consider several factors, including location, job-related knowledge, skills and experience. These considerations may cause your compensation to vary.

Ro recognizes the power of in-person collaboration, while supporting the flexibility to work anywhere in the United States. For our Ro’ers in the tri-state (NY) area, you will join us at HQ on Tuesdays and Thursdays. For those outside of the tri-state area, you will be able to join in-person collaborations throughout the year (i.e., during team on-sites).
