As a senior iOS Engineer at Ro, you will be collaborating directly with a cross-functional team to drive innovation in healthcare access and build intuitive, delightful native healthcare tools for thousands of patients. You will be responsible for visual quality and technical excellence in the Ro mobile apps, active technical contributions to architecting the larger patient experience, and mentorship of engineers to build more general expertise in the native mobile space.

What You’ll Do:

    • Drive the architecture, design, and implementation of new features in our iOS app, which currently has close to 100k monthly active users and counting.
    • Build realtime, visually engaging, intuitive touchpoints that will enable patients to seamlessly achieve their health goals
    • Collaborate with engineers cross-functionally as well as the product and design team(s) to influence the roadmap and product development of our patient experience in native mobile.
    • Identify areas of improvement in application performance and drive best practices for both the app and its upstream and downstream dependencies.
    • Ideate on the future of our user experience, using both qualitative user feedback and quantitative  analytics and monitoring to help identify areas of opportunity. 
    • Bring industry learnings in all technologies related to mobile development (Swift, SwiftUI, Kotlin, 3rd party libraries, etc.) to the team to look for opportunities to continue to improve the patient experience.
    • Actively participate in all team agile ceremonies, contributing to ensure that all team commitments are delivered on time and of the highest quality.

What You’ll Bring:

    • 5+ years of building and shipping iOS apps at scale with an eye for visually delightful user-facing experiences.
    • Proficient with Swift and SwiftUI, as well as knowledge of UI architecture and performance.
    • Proficient with multithreaded programming, including Async/Await.
    • Strong background in unit testing and memory management.
    • Demonstrated skills in delivering high quality code that is well-documented and highly maintainable.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
    • You care deeply about the user experience and can quickly assess the right visual solutions to achieve the product and design goals in an elegant manner.
    • You have a track record of working smart and getting assigned tasks done efficiently.
    • You have experience working closely with product designers and product managers.
    • You have strong systems design skills.
    • You are passionate about continuous learning and innovation in the mobile industry.
    • You have a strong sense of responsibility and ownership for your own work from the initial technical design and implementation all the way to monitoring for issues/opportunities after shipping out an app release.

    • Experience working with Android apps.

The target base salary for this position ranges from $198,900-234,000, in addition to a competitive equity and benefits package (as applicable). When determining compensation, we analyze and carefully consider several factors, including location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. These considerations may cause your compensation to vary.

Ro recognizes the power of in-person collaboration, while supporting the flexibility to work anywhere in the United States. For our Ro’ers in the tri-state (NY) area, you will join us at HQ on Tuesdays and Thursdays. For those outside of the tri-state area, you will be able to join in-person collaborations throughout the year (i.e., during team on-sites).
