Position Summary:
We are seeking a full-time Sr. Embedded Systems Engineer with a broad interest in wireless and optical sensors to help us massively expand our network of waste and logistics monitoring sensors currently deployed across the world. RoadRunner's customers use our product to streamline their operations and meet their Zero Waste goals. In this role, you’ll help bring new hardware products to life, powering our growth into more containers and more markets! Help us reshape the waste and recycling industry with a powerful combination of hardware, software and data!
Primary Responsibilities:
-Build the next generation of hardware solutions for the waste & recycling industry
-Assist and lead development across both current product improvements and new product development, specifically in the areas of embedded firmware development, sensor and peripheral integrations, and assembly line fixture development.
-Work on the design, debugging and testing of embedded, wireless sensors
-Ownership of projects from start to finish (integration of a new sensor, which requires cross discipline expertise and the follow through to take from initial concept through to production ready parts)
Skills and Experience:
-5+ years of relevant work experience
-Experience with C, C++ and Python
- Experience in hands-on development and troubleshooting with embedded devices, including design, manufacturing, and testing
-Experience with real-world implementation of RF and low-power systems
-High-volume consumer product manufacturing experience
-A daily drive to improve our product and grow our business
-Preference for a fast-paced, scrappy startup environment
-A desire to help the waste & recycling industry become more efficient with technology
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or related field is required
