Robbins Recruiting Solutions has partnered with a leader in the HVAC, electrical and plumbing industry to find a Risk, Health and Safety Manager. This role will maintain the risk, health and safety of all employees by developing safety solutions that demonstrate real value to the organization by ensuring risk is identified and mitigated. Reviews and assesses risk management policies and protocols; makes recommendations and implements modifications and improvements. Recommends and implements risk management solutions such as insurance, safety and security policies, business continuity plans, or recovery measures. This position will work to create a culture of safety and ensure that both leaders and employees are properly trained and equipped to manage health and safety while in the branch, traveling in company vehicles or on site with a customer.

Role and Responsibilities

    • Develop, implement, and maintain a corporate Risk Management and Safety Program
    • Lead and maintain a positive and pro-active culture related to risk, health, safety and environmental issues
    • Identify health, safety, and environmental training needs for employees and ensure training resources are available
    • Manage the workers’ compensation claims process that would include being the first point of contact when an on-the-job injury occurs and work with the work comp carrier to mitigate expense
    • Track all near misses, accidents and property damage that includes developing communication to prevent similar incidents in the future
    • Ensure all locations are in compliance with managing and posting all OSHA logs
    • Develop Toolbox talks for all locations and provide guidance on delivery to all employees.
    • Ensure 100% compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and standards – current and future
    • Evaluate services performed to find open safety risks (e.g., participate in ride a-longs and customer visits)
    • Hold monthly safety briefs with General Manager/managers/warehouse to promote safety best-practices and relay any new technology or equipment recommended to rolling out

Qualifications and Education Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management or a safety related field preferred
    • Five years’ direct safety experience, ideally in the home services industry (i.e., HVAC, electrical, plumbing, sewer, etc.)
    • Knowledge and current understanding of all applicable regulations including federal, state, and local laws and standards (U.S. EPA, SSHA, DOT, OSHA, etc.)
    • Ability to interpret regulations to ensure compliance
    • A naturally proactive person
    • Effective project management skills and highly organized
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to build strong interpersonal relationships across all levels of the organization
    • Ability to travel, as required
$120,000 - $120,000 a year
120,000 + bonus
