This role is part of Robust.AI’s Manufacturing team, as we grow to deploy our first production fleet of robots. As a Robotics Technician, you will be responsible for robot bring-up of the entire fleet. You will be instrumental in developing our bring-up process and bringing our robots to life. You will work with several teams within Robust.AI, including our Infrastructure, Quality Assurance, and Software teams.
This role will be on-site at our San Carlos office, 5 days/40 hours per week. Some travel may be required. This contract will be, at minimum, a 6-month commitment. The starting hourly wage for this role is $45.00-50.00 per hour; if your salary requirements fall outside of this range, we still encourage you to apply. The final compensation for this role will be based on the candidate’s unique skills and experience.
Main responsibilities:
- Flash firmware to PCBAs and deploy operating systems to onboard computers
- Evaluate robot bring-up process and debug performance issues
- Develop SOPs and work instructions surrounding robot bring-up
- Record and track performance bugs during manufacture and deployment
- Perform and develop in-line manufacturing tests
- Assist with the mechanical assembly of robots
Requirements:
- 4+ years of experience debugging, testing, and building electro-mechanical hardware or computers
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable using command line interfaces, Linux-based operating systems, and simple Bash commands
- Experience imaging and deploying operating systems onto computers
- Able to follow and develop SOPs and work instructions
- Experience reading wiring diagrams, using a digital multimeter and other electrical test equipment, and doing basic electrical assembly work
- Comfortable using basic hand tools for assembly
Ideal Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Git, ROS, YAML, and basic Python
- Experience with basic system administration and network configuration
- Experience with relational databases and SQL
- Familiarity with SolidWorks, and reading mechanical drawings
