Rocketship Public Schools Tennessee is hiring for the role of Operations Specialist. Under the guidance of the Business Operations Manager, you'll play a vital role in creating a positive experience for our students beyond the classroom. From overseeing lunch, recess, to managing arrival and dismissal procedures, you'll ensure every aspect of our school day runs seamlessly and safely. Plus, you'll have the rewarding opportunity to foster culturally appropriate behavior among our students throughout these daily activities.
At this time, this application will serve as a general pool that could be considered for any of our 3 campuses located in Northeast Nashville, South Nashville, and Antioch. As our hiring needs become more clear, candidates will be informed which campus has a need for Operations Specialist. Please indicate if there is a particular campus you may prefer in your application, and note that not all campuses may have an opportunity available.
Scheduled work hours: 7:00am-4:30pm, Monday - Friday
Responsibilities
- Supervise and monitor students during assigned lunch and recess periods
- Supervise and monitor students while riding the bus
- Implement all site rules and safety regulations within the structure of the Rocketship classroom culture
- Report any unsafe conditions, including equipment, to administrators immediately
- Ensure a safe and effective arrival/dismissal for all students before and after school hours
- Utilize appropriate disciplinary procedures and techniques in accordance with the school site discipline plan
- Attend staff meetings and in-service training as deemed necessary for the position
Requirements
- Commitment to Rocketship's mission, vision, and goals
- Passion for working with children
- Previous experience managing and/or teaching groups of elementary-age students is strongly preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to engage and work closely with a wide range of staff members
- Ability to learn laws, rules, practices and procedures related to public education and specific to Rocketship Public Schools
- Flexibility and a willingness to learn
$19.50 - $24.50 an hour
