Position Overview

The Director of Marketing and Enrollment leads the strategy to attract prospective students and talent to Rocketship Public Schools. A critical leader on the National Network Support Team, the Director of Marketing and Enrollment works in close partnership with all five Rocketship regions to design and deploy targeted recruitment campaigns, oversee and strengthen core systems, lead brand development, and provide coaching and development support for enrollment directors in all regions. This position manages a team of three and reports directly to the Chief Communications Officer.

The following are essential functions related to the role:

Lead development and implementation of enrollment and talent marketing strategy

    • Direct  annual marketing strategy to successfully drive toward enrollment targets and goals in all five Rocketship regions.
    • Partner with the Talent team to establish annual marketing strategy to successfully drive toward hiring goals.
    • Direct media plans and place media buys  across media markets and media channels to support enrollment and talent recruitment campaigns. 
    • Direct campaign message strategies, write creative briefs, and partner with your creative team to design and develop all creative materials.
    • Track and report out on key performance indicators across the full enrollment funnel from awareness building to lead generation to application acquisition and enrollment conversion.

Drive Brand Strategy

    • Collaborate with the Chief Communications Officer to develop comprehensive brand development plans and enhance our brand positioning.
    • Ensure consistent branding across all platforms, aligning with the national brand strategy and guidelines.
    • Oversee creative team responsible for managing all our digital channels including website, social media, and blog.
    • Conduct audience research to regularly evaluate brand health and use insights to inform and refine marketing strategies.

Oversee enrollment health and build capacity of regional enrollment leaders

    • Partner with the Strategy and Data teams to develop annual enrollment goals and improve performance tracking systems.
    • Analyze enrollment data to identify trends and opportunities, providing regular reports and actionable insights to regional and national leadership.
    • Immerse yourself in three distinct relationship management systems (Hubspot, SchoolMint, Powerschool) and lead integration and optimization efforts across all three platforms. 

Develop marketing and enrollment muscle on your team and with leaders in the network

    • Manage and develop a diverse team of three with an inclusive, high-performance culture.
    • Lead community of practice with (5) regional leaders responsible for enrollment health in each Rocketship region, providing targeted professional development to build capacity and enrollment expertise. 
    • Collaborate with other network leaders to identify innovative opportunities to harness the power of marketing to advance our mission and impact goals.  

Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree in applicable field preferred
    • Minimum of 7 years of experience in marketing or enrollment management, preferably within the education sector. 
    • Minimum of 3 years of full-time people management. 

Knowledge and Skills

    • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both orally and written
    • Deep experience with digital marketing including social media management, SEO, content development, media planning, etc.
    • Strong command of marketing analytics
    • Relationship-building and influencing skills, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders
    • Creative, ambitious and highly adept in designing and implementing cohesive project plans and cross-functional strategies
    • Experience in a non-profit and/or start up
    • Results and quality-focused with an eye for detail
    • Experience with Hubspot, Schoolmint, and/or PowerSchool is strongly preferred.
