.NET Developer - FinTech

Our client is one of Europe’s leading provider of shopping centre and retailer Gift Cards. The company was established over 10 years and has grown every year, providing services to 100+ shopping centres in the UK, Ireland, Poland, Italy, Finland & Dubai, and with an ever-increasing international presence.

One of their products is the fastest growing payments processor in Europe and counts amongst its clients challenger banks (e.g. Mondo and Starling), credit card issuers, e-money issuers and programme managers. They processes billions of Pounds of payments each year and has won consecutive awards each year including Breakout Company of the Year, The One to Watch, and Change Agent of the Year (the company that most changed the payments landscape in 2016).

They're currently searching for a passionate and driven .NET developer to join them at their Newcastle (NE1) based office to work on their new technology platform. Internally named Pay2, it combines and capitalises on the opportunities, to create service offerings in the Financial Technology (FinTech) sector. These offerings include but are not limited to, a rich reporting management information suite, card management tools and payment programme technologies. What you’ll bring:

A proven track record of creating commercial, flexible .NET applications in C# for a number of years.
Proficiency in MVC, WebAPI and designing RESTful web services.
Experience designing SQL Server Databases and writing efficient, optimised queries.
Version control exposure (specifically Git).
Knowledge of Dependency Injection frameworks.
The ability to communicate effectively with your peers.
Most importantly, a passionate attitude to learning and development.

It’d be nice, but not critical if you had:

Exposure to front end frameworks and libraries such as AngularJS and jQuery.
Experience creating responsive front end applications in HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript.
Prior experience working with cloud hosting environments.
IIS and Windows Server management experience.

Your responsibilities:

Writing high quality, maintainable code that is easy to read and test.
Identify and improve areas of our code base that could be more efficient.
Chair code reviews with our Senior Developer and other team members. This includes actively reviewing other team member’s code to underpin good development practices.
Creating system components from scratch to help us expand our client offering and to fulfil business requirements.
Participate in sprint planning and meetings related to the development roadmap with our Senior Developer and Chief Innovation Officer.
Engage with internal teams and external stakeholders when required to fully understand business requirements.
Actively engage in emerging development techniques and technologies, suggesting where feasible improvements to our development stack.
When required, work an extra hour or two with the team to get us across the line!
