MAMMOGRAPHY TECHNOLOGIST - Travel - Full-Time
Mammography Technologist is responsible for coordinating and completing daily procedures. This includes prioritizing the sequence of operations, completing the actual exam, and following through with all necessary paperwork. Following physician orders/patient assessment, quality mammographic procedures, patient care/radiation safety, QC/QA tasks, maintaining current competencies, equipment QC, other duties as assigned, records/documentation, lead tech duties if applicable
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of two years of experience performing diagnostic procedures and related responsibilities in a hospital or outpatient setting with proven scanning abilities and skills.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of Associates degree in related field; preferred Bachelor’s degree in related field.
Completion of an accredited Computer Tomography program requires ed. Technical or vocational training.
Certification/Licensure: 1) Certification/Licensure: ARRT, RT (R), (M) and BLS certifications
Valid Driver’s License in the State of employment and eligible to maintain insurability.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Knowledge of proper use and maintenance of mammography equipment.
· Mammography examinations and procedures that require the use of contrast agents.
· Ability to manage patients during complex mammographic procedure exams.
· Able to follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with the organization's patients, visitors, and employees.
· Scans in and labels documents appropriately, resolves QA issues promptly, and ensures images are released to radiologists promptly.
· Follows all radiation protection and dose reporting policies and processes.
· Ensure radiation safety standards are met and that the lowest possible radiation dose is used.
· Assist other technologists when necessary to maintain productivity.
· Assist radiologist with imaging procedures, starting IVs, and injecting contrast, if applicable.
· Prepare and position patients for mammographic imaging, ensuring proper technique and adherence to safety standards.
REQUIREMENTS:
· Must have the ability to function as a Mammography Technologist in performing examinations of patients
· Demonstrates competency in PACS process and Performs daily QA process.
· Effective communication skills and excellent patient care skills are required.
· Functions proficiently with all technical equipment in diagnostic modality.
· Properly uses radiation protection and shielding material to ensure compliance with federal and state guidelines.
· Must be up to date on all vaccinations as required for hospital employment and pass any needed health screenings, including drug screening and background check.

SUPERVISION:
Position reports to Regional Manager.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
· Position requires driving to and from client locations to perform duties.
· Mammography duties performed at client locations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Generally expected to lift between 50 and 100 pounds. This weight may include lifting patient positioning aids, portable ultrasound machines, or assisting with minor patient movements.
· Expected to stand or walk for extended periods while performing scans. This includes moving between patients, adjusting equipment, and positioning patients.
· Must have good hand-eye coordination to operate the ultrasound probe and adjust the machine's settings. They also need to manipulate the probe in different positions to capture clear images.
· The ability to see and interpret ultrasound images on a screen is crucial. Technologists need to analyze these images for diagnostic purposes, which requires sharp vision and attention to detail.
· The position may require bending, reaching, or twisting to position equipment, prepare the patient, or adjust settings. The physical flexibility required can vary based on patient positioning and room setup.
· May need to work in confined spaces or travel to different locations.
· The job requires physical endurance to perform several scans in a row, which may involve standing, sitting, or assisting patients.
PUBLIC CONTACT:
Requires some public contact with client patients, client staff and doctors, requiring considerable interpersonal skill, professionalism and customer service.
