We have a new role for an excellent Maintenance Technician to join our new team in Randwyck. The purpose of this role is to take responsibility for both reactive and planned preventative maintenance as well as ensuring that building compliance standards are met. The residence must live up to the high brand standards that Nido aspires to. 

The Maintenance Technician will oversee and be involved in all maintenance and remedial works in the rooms and communal areas of the building, making sure that they are carried out efficiently and in a professional manner. 

Key Responsibilities
•Provide first line quality maintenance and repairs for the building including painting, joinery, plumbing etc.
 
•Act on reactive maintenance requests from residents through the online portal. 
•Ensure all maintenance is carried out in a professional and efficient manner and that maintenance SLA timescales are adhered to.
•Carry out preventative works to reduce future costs. 
•Maintain a safe and presentable environment for staff and residents.
•Working as part of the team and ensuring that information regarding residents and the residence are shared amongst all members of the team.
•Bring to the attention of the General Manager any maintenance items which have serious implications for residents and/or the building.
•Ensure that a stock of general corrective maintenance items is held and liaise with the Assistant Manager and Area Manager to replenish stock.
•Manage site PPM schedule.
•Be proactive in the identification of corrective maintenance items.
•Monitor the Building Management System throughout the shift to ensure that there is a constant supply of heating and hot water to all residents, report to the maintenance team immediately if there is a fault and arrange an emergency call-out.
•Comply with workplace policies and procedures for risk identification, risk assessment and risk control.
•Actively participate in activities associated with the management of workplace health and safety.
•Identify and report health and safety risks, accidents, incidents, injuries and property damage at the workplace.
•Utilise personal protective equipment appropriately. 

Person Specification
•Exemplary building maintenance skills
•Recognised qualification, City & Guilds and/or NVQ in Carpentry, Joinery, Plumbing, Domestic Heating or Electrical Installation. 
•Previous property maintenance experience
•Working knowledge of Health & Safety 
•Ability to work to clear deadlines in a fast-paced environment
•Strong team player 
•Excellent customer relationship skills
•Clear communication skills (both verbal and written) 
•Methodical approach with excellent attention to detail
•Reliable with excellent time-management skills
•Excellent problem-solving skills and a ‘can do’ attitude
•Proactive with the ability to work on your own initiative 
•Basic knowledge and understanding of English required
