Who we are: connects pet parents with the nation’s largest network of pet sitters and dog walkers. On Rover, pet parents can easily discover, book, and manage personalized care for their dogs including pet sitting, dog walking, and doggy day care. Who we’re looking for:

The Director of Product of the core business is a crucial role on the growing Rover Team!  In this role, you are Rover’s strategic leader for the product experience for our sitters and pet owners. You will be responsible for defining strategy and goals with a focus on optimizing customer LTV, and making sure that Rover hits those goals.  

The ideal candidate for this role is an experienced product leader with prior experience operating in an online marketplace. You will be responsible for leading a team of product managers who work closely with stakeholders to identify and prioritize business opportunities at both strategic and tactical levels.  You will be an internal leader on the needs, pain points, and opportunities for the users of our product, and set the prioritization direction for the team.

Qualified candidates will need proven experience across four key themes:

    • Strategy formulation:  Experience working at a senior level to devise business and product strategy
    • Data and analytics: Deep expertise working with data analytics and financial planning and analysis
    • People leadership: Experience managing individuals and managers
    • User centricity:  Experience building great online experiences for users, focused on mobile

    • 8+ years of Product management experience in the tech industry
    • 5+ years leading teams, ideally of product or technical product managers
    • Passion for measuring and driving customer engagement and retention
    • Excellent organizational and analytical skills with strong technical abilities
    • Very comfortable with SQL, Google Analytics, Tableau or other data visualization tools
    • BS/MS/MBA in Business, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics or a related technical field or equivalent practical experience
    • Experience bringing thoughtful and successful product solutions to market
    • Experience leading teams through challenging prioritization decisions, creating clear and transparent frameworks that lead to well defined roadmaps
    • Proven ability to motivate teams to produce quality results within challenging timeframes and ongoing change
