Who we're looking for:
We’re searching for an experienced and skilled Head of Brand Communications, reporting to the Head of Marketing, Europe, as part of our London (UK) based marketing team.

You will lead our in-house, multi-disciplined team, collectively responsible for bringing the Rover brand to life in Europe through results focused PR programmes, scalable and measurable content marketing campaigns, and top-class design development and execution. 

A storyteller at heart, you'll flourish in this role if you can collaboratively lead the development and execution of strategic, integrated communication programmes, designed to build brand awareness and consideration, ultimately leading to an impressive top-line business impact across eight different European countries and languages. 

Your Responsibilities:

    • Line management of an in-house team: Content Strategist, Designer, PR Manager
    • Using local audience insights and established global brand guidelines, work with the European marketing team to ensure Rover's positioning is effective internationally
    • Continuously produce outstanding campaigns that drive growth, from strategic and conceptual stages through to the crafting of messaging and design execution
    • Support the launch of several global integrated marketing campaigns each year
    • Work with the team of Country Brand Managers to identify key market milestones, local cultural trends and other opportunities, to transform them into timely and relevant communications that lead to measurable results
    • As a guardian of the Rover brand, support the European marketing team to ensure consistency of visual identity and tone of voice across all customer touch points; from ATL activity, through CRM campaigns and online advertising
    • Partner with a team of peers at Rover HQ (Seattle) to ensure consistency in our PR, content and creative approach, plus help to evolve team processes
    • Manage day-to-day relationships with any European creative and media agencies
    • Undertake research to develop customer, audience, market and competitor insights
    • Continuously track brand health metrics and ROI to measure success and learnings 

About You:

    • With your can-do attitude, owning goals and hitting big targets is easy as 1, 2, 3…
    • Creative to your core, but no stranger to a spreadsheet - you will be comfortable using data, analysis and insights to backup and validate your intuition
    • You’re comfortable performing as a one-man-band or as part of a bigger orchestra
    • You’re a professional plate juggler (though perhaps not literally!) – having multiple projects on-the-go is the kind of thing that gets you out of bed in the morning
    • Nothing gets by you - you have a no stone left unturned approach to every detail

Your Experience:

    • Demonstrable ability to hire, manage and motivate external agencies and high performing internal teams through outcome oriented goal and priority setting
    • 8+ years of Marketing / Communications experience (client side or agency)
    • Past experience in managing international campaigns across digital and traditional channels, with an understanding of how brand building can support revenue goals
    • Proven experience building successful consumer brands - ideally while working at a top-tier marketing agency or in-house at a tech startup revered for their brand
    • Hands on experience successfully delivering projects in at least two of the following areas: integrated marketing, PR, social media, content marketing
    • We’re not expecting you to be a designer or copywriter, but you should be able to showcase how you’ve brought creative strategies to life for other brands
    • You’ll have more than a passing familiarity with current social media best practices
    • Experience in audience and market analysis to gather insights and build a deeper understanding of consumers and their motivation for using products or services
    • Prior experience working with cross-functional, remote or international teams
    • Previous startup/scale-up or high-growth business exposure would be impressive
    • Fluent in English, but speaking French, Spanish, or German would be a bonus
