Do you want to be a part of creating a game that truly resonates with players? We’re looking for a Senior UX Researcher for a fixed-term employment until December 2026 to collaborate with Sega Japan and shape the success of Sonic Rumble. At Rovio, you'll be the voice of our players, using your expertise to help create the most engaging and user-friendly free-to-play games in the industry.

You’ll help your project team understand player motivations, behaviors, and needs by conducting qualitative and quantitative research, and delivering findings to stakeholders through workshops, collaboration, presentations, and reports. Your insights will be crucial in shaping the development process of the game.

This position can be based in Espoo, Finland or Stockholm, Sweden and follows a hybrid work model with two on-site days per week.

You will have impact and fun at work by doing:

    • Own the research strategy for your projects and independently plan, manage, and carry out mixed-method research studies, including qualitative and quantitative approaches.
    • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, such as development and marketing, throughout the entire game lifecycle and combine research findings with other data sources.
    • Advocate for players and drive player-focused decisions by providing actionable insights on their experience, needs, and motivations.
    • Manage relationships with key senior stakeholders, ensuring they are invested in research and use findings to make data-informed decisions.
    • Level up Rovio’s research approach both inside and outside the craft by sharing knowledge and investigating new methods.

Experience and skills we are looking for:

    • Several years of experience as a UX Researcher in the games industry, integrating user research into actionable design and product improvement.
    • A degree or equivalent work experience in human computer interaction (HCI), psychology, interaction design, product design or related field.
    • Vast experience with qualitative and quantitative research methods (e.g., surveys, playtests, interviews), statistical data analysis (Python, Excel, SPSS or R), and managing external research vendors.
    • Deep knowledge of mobile games and a strong understanding of player motivators.
    • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to tell a compelling story with your findings.
    • Proactiveness in approach to research and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Please send your CV and Portfolio in English. We look forward to hearing from you!
