Objective: The Director of Education will lead all aspects of Royal Ambulance’s training, education, and program development for EMTs. This position will build, define, and scale Royal Ambulance’s internal training people development, EMT program, on-going EMS education, and fulfill the position of EMT Program Director and/or clinical coordinator. The Director of Education collaborates with the ALS and Critical Care Education team on educational projects across the organization.

Responsibilities

    • Create industry leading education programs to develop the next generation of healthcare leaders
    • Strategize and implement cutting-edge clinical & leadership education to support team member growth.
    • Plan, develop, and implement an Emergency Medical Technician - Basic training program consistent with California laws and regulations.
    • Creates and implements a comprehensive educational plan for all EMT on-boarding and orientation.
    • Hire and train adjunct instructors for the EMT program.
    • Serve as a key member of the Royal Ambulance leadership team responsible for being a steward of Royal’s culture and values. 
    • Develops specialized training in response to identified trends.
    • Maintains oversight and management of the California EMT continuing educationprogram.
    • Attends various regional and local EMS related meetings and conferences. 
    • Other duties as reasonably assigned.

Skills/Requirements

    • At least three years experience as an EMT or paramedic program director or clinical coordinator.
    • Minimum of five years of experience as an EMT, Paramedic, and/or ED/Flight/CCT RN
    • At least three years experience teaching in a mixed classroom/virtual environment.
    • Understanding of teaching methodologies and practices around how different individuals learn and retain information
    • Ability to plan and develop lesson plans, curriculum, and training ranging from shorter continuing education courses to full scale educational programs.
    • Experience supervising and evaluating instructors.
    • Strong attention to detail, able to prepare and submit regulatory documents.
    • Active (or ability to obtain) unencumbered EMT, Paramedic, Registered Nurse license (Paramedic or RN strongly preferred)
    • Current American Heart Association - BLS Certification
    • NAEMSE Level I Course Completion or State Fire Marshal 1A and 1B.
    • B.A./B.S. strongly preferred
$105,000 - $160,000 a year
