The Head of Finance position at Royal Ambulance offers a unique opportunity for an experienced finance leader to join a dynamic healthcare organization on the cusp of significant growth. This role plays a pivotal role in overseeing the financial operations of the organization, driving its growth trajectory through the formulation and execution of comprehensive financial management strategies. Key responsibilities include business planning, budgeting, forecasting, external negotiations, risk management, regulatory compliance, and identifying opportunities for expansion. Responsibilities

    • Oversee daily accounting operations, including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Payroll, and other relevant functions.
    • Lead monthly close activities, including revenue recognition, accruals, preparation of financial statements, and variance analysis.
    • Supervise staff and manage employee performance, providing ongoing feedback, training, and skill development.
    • Manage the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and analyses for internal and external stakeholders.
    • Coordinate annual audits, working closely with external accounting firms.
    • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, and regulations, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and relevant industry guidelines.
    • Optimize financial and accounting systems to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Support the organization's growth strategy by assessing opportunities, leading financial modeling, and exploring partnerships and joint ventures.
    • Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory agencies to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
    • Lead efforts to reduce operating costs and increase revenues.
    • Develop and maintain operational and capital budgets aligned with long and short-term plans and objectives.
    • Monitor financial and economic trends to inform business operations, planning, and investments.

Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in business or healthcare administration with a focus on accounting, finance, economics, or a related field required; CPA or Master’s degree in finance or a related field preferred.
    • Ten years of experience in financial environments (i.e. FP&A, Controller), including five years in progressive leadership roles, preferably within the Healthcare industry.
    • Strong knowledge of technical accounting functions, financial modeling, GAAP, and operational optimization.
    • Knowledgeable about applicable federal and state laws and regulations related to the healthcare industry.
    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide feedback, deliver presentations, and inspire teams.
    • Proven ability to delegate, drive accountability, and empower team members.
    • Collaborative approach to conflict resolution and problem-solving.
    • Demonstrated humility, self-awareness, and adaptability.
    • Highly organized, disciplined, and self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, specifically Excel, and experience working with FP&A software.
    • Familiarity with Adaptive, Planful, Essbase, and/or Hyperion is a plus.
