    • This position will be in RPS Chicago office. The ideal candidate will be a licensed professional engineer with 10+ years of experience as a leader in all aspects of environmental assessment, investigation, remediation, and site closure.  The professional will involve with heavy technical report writing, be able to communicate effectively with clients, regulatory agents, and other stakeholders, and will have at least the following additional functions:
    • Manage and/or conduct a variety of field samplings – soil, groundwater, soil gas, soil vapor, indoor air, aquifer tests, etc.
    • Be familiar with risk-based environmental decision making, remediation, and Brownfield’s redevelopment.
    • Familiar with a broad array of remediation technologies, costs, and pros/cons of implementation.
    • Design and install vapor mitigation systems to address vapor intrusion.
    • Understand federal and states environmental management regulations.
    • Develop proposals with proven ability to win work; pursue opportunities of marketing, business development, generation of leads, as necessitated. 
    • Prepare and communicate project updates and reports to industrial, financial and real estate clients regarding the findings of environmental assessment, sampling investigation, and/or remediation projects
    • Up to 5 to 15% travel 


    • Illinois Professional Engineer (PE) certification required
    • BA/BS required in engineering, geology or similar scientific/engineering fields; Master’s degree preferred
    • A minimum of 10-year experience in environmental consulting; at least 3-year in a senior role
