Principal Engineer (Remediation)

Working from our Oakland, CA office, the primary responsibility of the Principal Remediation Engineer position is to serve as the Northern California Remediation practice leader.  The ideal candidate will be a Licensed California P.E. with 10+ years of experience as a leader in all aspects of environmental property assessment and environmental site remediation


    • California P.E. license (mandatory); other State P.E. license a plus
    • Familiar with a broad array of remediation technologies, costs, and pros/cons of implementation
    • Solid understanding of state and federal hazardous waste management regulations
    • 7 to 12 years professional experience in design and implementation of remedial systems
    • Mechanical remediation system design and operation including soil vapor extraction, groundwater extraction and treatment, air sparging, etc.
    • Design and implementation of in-situ treatment including enhanced bioremediation, chemical oxidation, thermal heating, etc..
    • Sub-slab vapor intrusion mitigation systems (VIMS) design and certification
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Experience with standard due diligence and remedial investigations including Phase I and Phase II environmental site assessments, human health risk assessments, feasibility studies, remedial action plans and remedial design and implementation plans
    • Strong agency relationships and negotiation skills
    • Proficient in AutoCad
    • Seller/Doer with strong marketing experience (Great to come with a book of business)              


    • California Professional Engineer (PE) certification required; additional certifications preferred
    • 7 to 12 years professional experience in design and implementation of remedial systems
