The Director of Business Development is a dedicated and highly self-motivated resource that ensures strong year-over-year sales growth and expansion within existing clients while also identifying and pursuing new business. The position demonstrates leadership to acquire, maintain and expand relationships within an existing customer as well as lead, along with other key stakeholders, the acquisition of customer accounts as assigned by RQM+ in line with RQM+’s commercialization strategy.  The Director, Business Development provides point of contact leadership for the aligned business unit(s) and collaborates with fellow team members in generating cross selling opportunities. 

Primary Responsibilities

    • Leads Sales activities that result in meeting or exceeding annual targets within targeted existing and new accounts.
    • Qualify all sales leads in a timely manner and assess value and potential for new potential strategic customers.
    • Remains aligned with RQM+’s overall commercialization strategies to achieve the revenue goals of the organization.
    • Conducts contract, business and operational discussions with Facility, Divisional and Corporate executives within select organizations and ensures a high level of customer satisfaction.
    • Participates in business and project planning activities within customer organizations.
    • Ensures all stakeholders are aligned with account requirements. Works with legal on necessary amendments for master agreements.  Works with legal and finance to ensure contract requirements are defined and implemented.
    • Develops and cultivates long-term relationships with existing customers to provide ongoing sales.
    • Leads and supports the promotion of RQM+ through a variety of direct marketing tactics & strategies.
    • Holds final responsibility for the successful and accurate preparation of project estimates, presentations, and service agreements.
    • Develops and maintains product knowledge.
    • Opportunity to be a team lead within business unit is a possibility.

Education/Work Experience

    • Bachelors’ degree in related field, required
    • Must have direct experience working in medical devices, diagnostic, life science, or relevant services firms.
    • Direct sales experience, required
    • Experience selling in the medical device or IVD manufacturer markets is preferred.

Requirements

    • Demonstrated persuasion and consensus building skills dealing with large customer accounts, having the ability to interact with all levels in the organization with an emphasis on VP and above, required.
    • Demonstrated history of developing and maintaining long term sales relationships. 
    • Proven ability to quickly learn and ascertain both business and Account skills to support the changing demands of both the customer and RQM+.  
    • Strong understanding of medical device development required. 
    • Excellent written, verbal and formal presentation skills to client audiences ranging from Individual Contributors through the CEO. 
    • A strong sense of urgency required. 
    • Demonstrate flexible and positive “can do” approach to delivering results.

Supervisory Responsibilities

    • This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

    • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move objects up to 25 pounds.
